April 22 Earth Day Volunteer Event

Join us on Saturday, April 22rd for our annual Earth Day event, held in partnership with the Anacostia Watershed Society. We will spend the morning removing invasive plants, picking up trash, planting native plants, and performing other park projects. When the work is done we hope our volunteers will join the watershed wide Earth Day celebration at a location nearby (TBD). July 15 Annual Water Lily & Lotus Festival

Join us for the park's signature summer event - The Water Lily & Lotus Festival! We'll have music, cultural arts and crafts, live animal exhibit for kids and more! The lotus will be in full bloom and we'll need volunteers to work 2-3 hour shifts throughout the day to help with set-up & take down, organize events, and orient visitors. July 22 Lotus Jazz Night

Join us for our second annual Lotus Jazz Night! Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, National Capital Parks-East and the DC Promise Neighborhood Initiative are hosting a Lotus Jazz Night featuring incredible live jazz at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens to celebrate the end of this year's week-long Water Lily and Lotus Festival. Bring family, friends, and a blanket and picnic to enjoy this amazing show along with the jaw-dropping backdrop of the pink American lotus.

September 10 Volunteer Day - National Day of Service and Remembrance for 9/11

Join us as we partner with the Student Conservation Association to commemorate the 9/11 National Day of Service and Rememberance at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. At this special event we'll be cutting lotus for removal later in the month, removing invasive plants and prepping the gardens for the fall season. FREE lunch and t-shirts for all volunteers. Sept 23 National Public Lands Day Volunteer Event

Join us as we partner with the National Environmental Education Foundation to celebrate National Public Lands Day! For this premiere service event 200 plus volunteers will assist with the removal of cut lotus from the park's ponds as well as a variety of other park improvement projects including transplanting perennials, removing invasive species, and picking up litter from 9am-1pm, including lunch in the picnic grove.
