This training will provide you with the background and skills to go from volunteer to "super volunteer"! With growing numbers, we need a few folks to step up and help lead projects during our monthly events. This training provided in partnership with DDOE will provide in-depth instruction on how to properly identify and remove invasive plants and tip on how to lead groups in this effort. April 25 Earth Day Volunteer Event

Join us on Saturday, April 25th for our annual Earth Day event, held in partnership with the Anacostia Watershed Society. We will spend the morning removing invasive plants, picking up trash, planting native plants, and performing other park projects. When the work is done we hope our volunteers will join the watershed wide Earth Day celebration at Bladensburg Waterfront Park. The celebration will include free food and drink, live music, local exhibitors, and speakers.

May 16 Good Neighbor Day of Service and Celebration

Join us for our second annual Good Neighbor Day service and celebration event! We will start the day at 10am with 2 hours of volunteer service in the park, followed by a family friendly celebration from 12:00-2:00pm including music, park tours, scavenger hunts, face painting and family friendly fun! July 11 Water Lily & Lotus Cultural Festival

Join us for the park's signature summer event - The Water Lily & Lotus Festival! The lotus will be in full bloom and we'll need volunteers to work 2 hour shifts throughout the day to help with set-up & take down, organize events, and orient visitors. More details coming soon!

Sept 26 National Public Lands Day Volunteer Event

For our premiere service event 200 plus volunteers will assist with the removal of cut lotus from the park's ponds as well as a variety of other park improvement projects including transplanting perennials, removing invasive species, and picking up litter. Nov 14 Family Volunteer Day

Bring your family and participate in National Family Service Day! Start a great tradition and show your children the value of service and gratitude for nature's beauty. Projects will likely include separating and potting grasses, planting spring bulbs, raking leaves, and picking up trash. There is no set age limit but parent supervision required for those 18 and younger. SSL can be earned at this event. RSVP recommended.
