Thank You Volunteers for an Outstanding 2011!

Wednesday, November 16th - 2011 Our 2011 calendar of service ended with a highly successful "Putting the park to bed for the winter" event on Saturday October 22nd capping the tenth year that the National Park Service, the National Parks Conservation Association, and the Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens have co-hosted service projects at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Thanks to our volunteers 2011 was truly a banner year. Over 500 volunteers rendered in excess of 1,500 hours of community service. You assisted NPS staff with the collection and removal of trash and invasive plants and weeds, installed drainage pipes on both sides of the main green house, and cleared cut lotus leaves from the main pond. Congratulations on a job well done and I hope we see all of you again at the Aquatic Gardens in 2012. Thanks (most sincerely)! Alan Read More...
